KTGY-designed Mixed-use Student Housing Community Breaks Ground

IRVINE, CA - June 3, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- Award-winning national architecture and planning firm KTGY Group, Inc. and private developer, Hanover Pacific, LLC, announce the ground breaking of a new, mixed-use, 173,000-square-foot graduate student housing community, adjacent to the campus of Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU), a private, non-profit graduate school for health professions. The four-story mixed-use development located in downtown Pomona, Calif., will provide 306 beds along with approximately 10,000 square feet to be used by WesternU as faculty offices. The 3.6-acre project is a complex public/private partnership with the City of Pomona, the Vehicle Parking District, and Hanover Pacific, along with the support of WesternU. The project is slated to be completed by fall of 2014

Rep. Paul Cook Cuts Ribbon at New Joshua Tree Elementary School

JOSHUA TREE, CA - May 14, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- Rep. Paul Cook (R-Yucca Valley) today cut the ceremonial ribbon to commemorate the opening of the new Joshua Tree Elementary School. Cook was joined by approximately 25 students and more than 50 individuals from the community. The new building is located about a mile north of the previous Joshua Tree Elementary School, which was built on an earthquake fault. The new school is located at 4950 Sunburst Avenue in Joshua Tree and will serve approximately 300 students when it opens this fall.

C.W. Driver Begins Construction of $110 Million Life Sciences Building at Loyola Marymount University

WASHINGTON, D.C. - May 9, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- C.W. Driver, a premiere builder serving the Western U.S. since 1919, has broken ground for the new 103,500-square-foot Life Sciences building at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) in Los Angeles. The $110 million (total project cost), three-story building will serve as a teaching, research and laboratory facility for the Seaver College of Science and Engineering’s biology, chemistry and natural science departments. Designed to LEED® Silver specifications by Los Angeles-based CO Architects, construction on the building will begin May 13, 2013, and will be completed in two years.

CAL FIRE Increases Staffing in Southern California as Fire Danger Rises

Sacramento - April 15, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- Following an extremely dry winter, CAL FIRE has increased its staffing in Southern California for fire season. Starting Monday, April 15, CAL FIRE began transitioning into fire season in San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Over the past month, CAL FIRE has been hiring and training seasonal firefighters to augment its full-time firefighters and will now staff most of the department’s seasonal fire stations around the clock along with several water dropping helicopters. Unless weather conditions drastically change, CAL FIRE will begin staffing its airtankers in Southern California on April 22

Construction begins on $55 million HGA-designed studen success center at East Los Angeles College
