Lee & Associates West Los Angeles Adds Prominent Broker and Golf Course Expert
Torrance, CA – October 22, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Robert A. Clifford, who brings over 28 years of real estate broker experience, has joined the West Los Angeles office of Lee & Associates, one of the nation’s leading commercial real estate providers. Joining Clifford is Steve Timm, whose extensive experience in the golf industry adds a nationwide golf course sale specialty to the office.

Clifford, whose chief specialization has been user and developer representation for land and redevelopment properties in southern California, aviation properties and sales of golf courses, will provide services that are rare in brokerage and include a sought after niche in healthcare and senior housing. With a total transaction value of more than $875 million, Clifford now focuses primarily on infill properties with redevelopment and, or repositioning opportunities. Throughout his career, he has represented some of the biggest players in senior housing, aviation, golf and retail including Sunrise Senior Living Inc., National Medical Enterprises (now Tenet Healthcare), William E. Simon & Sons, National Golf Properties, American Golf Corporation Red Mountain Retail Group, Textron Financial and Hamni Bank. In addition, Clifford is co-founder and principal at Airport Property Ventures LLC., an airport management and aviation real estate company which has a long-term master lease on Oceanside Airport that they plan to fully redevelop with new hangars, terminal and office development.
Prior to joining Lee & Associates, Clifford was president of Western Holdings, which merged into Capital Real Estate Advisors in 2008. Additionally, from 1997-2004 Clifford was founder and principal of American Airports Corporation, which he grew to be the largest operator of general aviation airports in the country. A resident of Brentwood, Calif., Clifford holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communications from Pepperdine University. He has completed numerous extension and professional courses in real estate, including Real Estate Law and Fundamentals of Real Estate Valuation, among others. Clifford is also a licensed private pilot and a member of the Henry’s Fork Foundation.

Steve A. Timm has more than 35 years of professional golf course design, planning, development, management and teaching experience. His depth of experience includes Director of Golf Operations at the famed Riviera Country Club, home of the annual Northern Trust Open PGA Tour Event in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Additionally, since 1993, Steve Timm has owned Steve Timm Design, a golf course architecture and planning company. He has designed, master planned and renovated a variety of major U.S. and international golf courses, such as The Cascades in Los Angeles, Calif, Santa Barbara Golf Club in Santa Barbara, Calif., Black Canyon Ranch in Boise, Idaho and Sundance Golf Club in Kunming, China.
Prior to founding his own company, Timm was vice president of Cosmo World Corp., a multinational golf course resort development company from Japan. He also distributed UST graphite golf shafts for Cosmo World Corp. to golf club companies such as Ping, Titieist and Hogan. While with Cosmo World Corp., Timm also played a role in the company’s acquisitions of Pebble Beach Resort, Pebble Beach, Calif. with a transaction value of $850 million and Ben Hogan Company, Fort Worth, Texas with a transaction value of $50 million.
