Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones is reminding wildfire evacuees that they may be eligible for reimbursement for additional living expenses due to mandatory evacuations.
Garamendi Congratulates UC Davis on New National Transportation Center
WALNUT GROVE, CA - September 25, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- Congressman John Garamendi (D-Fairfield, CA), a Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, today congratulated UC Davis’s Institute of Transportation Studies on being selected in a national competition to lead a new two-year, $11.2 million research consortium for the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). The newly created National Center for Sustainable Transportation (NCST) will receive funding through a $5.6 million grant from the U.S. DOT and $5.6 million in matching funds from state, regional, and local agencies. The NCST will use the money to assert national leadership in reducing carbon emissions from transportation systems while supporting climate adaptation activities and continued mitigation of air pollution and other environmental impacts.

SAN JOSE, CA - September 25, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-San Jose, Calif.) announced today that two San Jose based community development organizations will receive federal grant funding totaling nearly $2.7 million for small business development and affordable housing. The two grants, each valued at $1.347 million, are being awarded by the U.S. Treasury Department's Community Development Financial Institution's (CDFI) fund to the Opportunity Fund and the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County.
New Transitional Veterans Program At West Los Angeles Veterans Home

California August Home Sales
WASHINGTON, D.C. - September 16, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- An estimated 42,546 new and resale houses and condos sold statewide last month. That was down 1.9 percent from a revised 43,381 in July, and up 3.1 percent from 41,280 sales in August 2012, according to San Diego-based DataQuick.
