AGUILAR ANNOUNCES FEDERAL FUNDS TO COMBAT VETERAN HOMELESSNESS IN SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY

Rep. Pete Aguilar announced that the Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino (HACSB) was awarded a $409,800 grant by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) through the Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) program. With this additional grant funding, HACSB now has the ability to subsidize housing for 457 veterans

A man is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow for defrauding approximately $2 million from 380 troubled homeowners through a loan modification scheme. Kevin Frank Rasher, 44, Coto de Caza, is charged with one felony count of second degree burglary, 46 felony counts of grand theft, one felony count of aiding false or fraudulent return, and a sentencing enhancement for property damage or loss over $65,000

AGUILAR CONVENES VETERANS ADVISORY BOARD TO IMPROVE HEALTH CARE SERVICES

Yesterday, Rep. Pete Aguilar convened another meeting of his Veterans Advisory Board. Congressman John Garamendi Introduces Comprehensive Bill to Address California Drought and Water Infrastructure

Congressman John Garamendi (D-Fairfield, Davis, Yuba City), the representative for 200 miles of the Sacramento River located in the 3rd Congressional District, introduced legislation that would modernize California’s water management policies and provide short-term and long-term solutions to alleviate California’s ongoing drought. The legislation is specifically designed to align with Proposition 1, the water bond recently passed by California voters. City reduces storm drainage service rates

The City of Sacramento is reducing drainage rates on commercial vacant parcels following a review of the drainage rate structure. The reduction will benefit 627 property owners of 1342 vacant parcels, saving them an estimated average of $956 per year. The City Council approved the revised rate structure on May 10.
