U.S. Green Building Council Names Top 10 Green Building Policies in California

Sacramento, CA - April 26, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), in conjunction with USGBC California, an organization representing eight California USGBC chapters, today released its inaugural Top 10 list of State and Local Green Building Policies in California. These policies were recognized for the way each has advanced green building practices in the state.

Mayor Lee Introduces New Municipal Green Building Standards Ordinance

San Francisco, CA - July 20, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- Mayor Edwin M. Lee today introduced legislation at the Board of Supervisors updating the Municipal Green Building Code to require U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification for all municipal construction and major renovation projects over 5,000 square feet after September 1, 2011. Currently, only LEED Silver certification is required for municipal buildings, while LEED Gold is required for private sector buildings starting in 2012. This legislation updates green building standards for municipal construction projects that will secure San Francisco’s place as a national leader in resource efficient building.

PCCP and SRM Associates Form Joint Venture for the Development of a 160,000 SF...

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - May 3, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- PCCP, LLC, SRM Associates and Scott Newman, a private individual, have announced they have formed a joint venture to develop a four-building 160,000-square-foot build-to-suit office project in Alameda, Calif. for VF Outdoor, Inc., a subsidiary of VF Corporation. The project will serve as the global headquarters for VF Outdoor and its brands including The North Face®, JanSport® and lucy®. Ground breaking for the project occurred today and completion is anticipated in summer 2012. Phil Lombardo and John McManus of Cushman and Wakefield represented VF Outdoor.

New Building Code Changes to Take Effect on Jan. 1, 2011
