Los Angeles Visionaries Honored at LA Headquarters Association’s 52nd Annual Awards Luncheon
WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 2, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — More than 300 business and community leaders gathered at The California Club Wednesday, April 24 to celebrate those dedicated to improving the City of Los Angeles at the Los Angeles Headquarters Association’s 52nd Annual Awards Luncheon. Wayne Ratkovich, president and CEO of the Los Angeles development company The Ratkovich Company, joined the esteemed ranks of city and industry leaders whose contributions have strengthened the community to keep the spirit of Los Angeles alive.
As winner of the Spirit of Los Angeles Award, Ratkovich, a well known Los Angeles developer, was honored for his contributions to the city’s continuous growth and landscape—completing various infill projects and contributing to local developments that focus on improving the urban communities of Los Angeles and its surrounding cities. Other companies that were honored included the California Science Center as recipient of the Cultural Award for its extensive work emphasizing science, engineering and space travel through its Space Shuttle Endeavor exhibit. DirecTV, the direct satellite service provider and broadcaster, received the Outstanding Headquarters Award. Girl Scouts of America was awarded the Community Award for their programs and empowering work with girls in the Los Angeles region and all over the U.S.
Over the years, Los Angeles notables such as Gene Autry, Mayor Tom Bradley, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Pete Carroll, Councilwoman Jan Perry and Frank Gehry, have been honored by LAHQ for shaping the city’s economic success and quality of life.
“Despite the economic odds, the awards luncheon celebrated all of the positive things that are happening in our community right now,” said Joseph Faulkner, LAHQ president. “We are proud of all of the contributions to the city and are proud to honor the men and women who have made tireless efforts to build Los Angeles’ colorful, thriving spirit.”
