BRIDGE Housing has hired Dan Adams as Director of Potrero, effective August 31.
Mr. Adams will oversee the redevelopment of Potrero Terrace and Annex, a large-scale, mixed-income, mixed-use public housing revitalization effort in San Francisco. He will report to Senior Vice President Whitney Weller. BRIDGE is a nationally recognized nonprofit developer, owner and manager of affordable housing
Costa Fights to Strengthen Western Water Bill for San Joaquin Valley
Rep. Costa offered three amendments before the Rules Committee, in a continued effort to improve H.R. 2898, the Western Water and American Food Security Act of 2015, of which he is an original co-sponsor. The amendments offered would increase storage at Lake McClure by providing a process to raise the spillway gates of New Exchequer Dam, would utilize existing National Guard resources to assist communities impacted by the drought and would increase accountability for environmental water flows
HUD ANNOUNCES SACRAMENTO IS ONE OF NINE FINALISTS FOR CHOICE NEIGHBORHOODS IMPLEMENTATION GRANT
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has announced that Sacramento is one of nine finalists to compete for 2014-2015 Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grants to transform public housing, as well as the surrounding neighborhood. The finalists were selected from a pool of 33 applicants and will compete for individual grants of up to $30 million. Other than Camden, New Jersey, Sacramento is the only entity with a federal Promise Zone designation.

Yesterday, the Department of Energy and Department of Transportation announced that they are collaborating with Sandia National Laboratories to prepare a comprehensive Crude Oil Characteristics Research Sampling, Analysis and Experiment Plan. The plan will include further study on the best ways to sample, test, and identify crude oil’s combustion risk. It is expected to take 18 months.
