The successful candidate will be detail-oriented with an open communication style, strong computer capabilities (including learning customized software), and comfortable with budgets and financial analysis.
Rep. Susan Davis Announces $5.2 Million to Expand Sweetwater Drinking Water Facility
U.S. Rep. Susan Davis (D-San Diego) announced a $5.2 million federal grant for the Sweetwater Authority to expand a desalination facility. The grant from the Department of the Interior will go toward increasing the desalination capabilities of the Richard A. Reynolds Desalination Facility from 3,600 acre-feet per year (AFY) of water to 8,000 AFY.

Christy Romero, Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (SIGTARP), and Benjamin B. Wagner, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of California, today announced that Tamara Tikal, 45, of Rio Vista, California, was sentenced on July 16, 2015, by United States District Judge Troy L. Nunley to three years and nine months in federal prison for her conviction for conspiring to commit mail fraud in relation to a foreclosure rescue scam. Tamara Tikal was also ordered to pay $3,671,000 in restitution to victims of the offense.

Historic legislation enacted by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. last year empowers local agencies to bring groundwater basins into sustainable patterns of pumping and recharge. TWO MEN CHARGED WITH ANIMAL CRUELTY FOR CUTTING DOWN TREE HOUSING MIGRATORY, PROTECTED BIRDS
Two men were charged today with animal cruelty for cutting down tree which housed migratory and protected birds. Stephen John Esser, 47, Dana Point, and David Roger Stanley, 40, Downey, are each charged with one misdemeanor count of animal cruelty, one misdemeanor count of unlawful possession and destruction of bird nests/eggs, one misdemeanor count of unlawful taking of migratory nongame birds, and one misdemeanor count of harassing a bird or mammal.

Approximately 300 students from 17 California school districts are participating in this summer's SunPower Solar Science Academy, a work-based learning program provided by SunPower.
In total, more than 600 students and 86 teachers have participated since the summer academy was launched in 2012.
