Washington, DC - September 9, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) announced today that Savannah and Augusta will receive a combined $2.18 Million in funding to reverse the effects of the foreclosure crisis. The City of Savannah will receive $1,027,553 and Augusta-Richmond County will receive $1,161,297. The grants announced today will provide targeted emergency assistance to state and local governments to acquire, redevelop, or demolish foreclosed properties.

Recovery Act Funding Will Create Local Construction Jobs, Improve Learning Facilities for Sacramento Students. SACRAMENTO, CA - March 17, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Today, Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D – Sacramento) announced the award of a $19,342,000 qualified school construction bond, administered by the Department of Treasury and authorized by the Recovery Act, which Rep. Matsui supported last year. Qualified school construction bonds can be used to finance the construction, rehabilitation or repair of a public school facility or for the acquisition of land where a school will be built.

WASHINGTON, DC - January 18, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Congresswoman Laura Richardson is pleased to announce that the U.S. Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD) has awarded $22 million to the City of Long Beach and additional millions to the 37th District counseling partner Los Angeles Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. The funds are a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) and are distributed as part of HUD’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program, which requires the funds be used to improve the quality of and access to housing for low- and moderate-income families.

January 15, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today announced that $318 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) funding has been awarded to entities in California by the Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD). These awards are funded through the federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP2) to help renovate and rehabilitate foreclosed homes, eliminate blight and reinvigorate and stabilize the affected neighborhoods hit hardest by foreclosures.

October 7, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today announced the awarding of more than $68 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) weatherization funding to non-profit, local government and community action agencies throughout the state. This funding is federally designated to help low-income families weatherize their homes, which decreases utility bills and saves energy while stimulating local economies. Administered by the State Department of Community Services and Development (CSD), California’s low-income Recovery Act weatherization program was one of the first 15 state plans federally approved by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)

Oakland, CA - August 7, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA) applauded an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announcement selecting the City of Emeryville to receive $500,000 in Recovery Act funding to help protect human health and the environment. Additionally the cities of Emeryville and Oakland will receive $500,000 and $400,000 respectively in other brownfields funding.

Funding will stimulate the production of 65 affordable housing units stalled by recession and create quality jobs. WASHINGTON - U.S. Housing and Urban Development Deputy Secretary Ron Sims today visited Cedar Gateway Developments in San Diego, CA, an affordable housing development that was under construction but came to a halt last March due to the loss of tax credit funding. HUD Tax Credit Assistance Program (TCAP) funding, provided through American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act), will now allow the project's construction to restart in November, along with thousands of others throughout the country, creating quality jobs in the hard-hit construction industry.
