C.W. Driver Begins Construction of $110 Million Life Sciences Building at Loyola Marymount University

WASHINGTON, D.C. - May 9, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- C.W. Driver, a premiere builder serving the Western U.S. since 1919, has broken ground for the new 103,500-square-foot Life Sciences building at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) in Los Angeles. The $110 million (total project cost), three-story building will serve as a teaching, research and laboratory facility for the Seaver College of Science and Engineering’s biology, chemistry and natural science departments. Designed to LEED® Silver specifications by Los Angeles-based CO Architects, construction on the building will begin May 13, 2013, and will be completed in two years.

C.W. Driver-Built Library Earns LEED Gold Certification

Driver’s work building the Ramona Library in the San Diego town has resulted in the 21,000-square-foot structure being granted LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. C.W. Driver, a premier builder serving the Western U.S. since 1919, left its environmentally conscious mark on the Tuscan and Southwestern-style building, which is the second-largest library in San Diego County. It opened this spring and is four-times larger than the original library it replaced.

Mayor Lee Introduces New Municipal Green Building Standards Ordinance

San Francisco, CA - July 20, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- Mayor Edwin M. Lee today introduced legislation at the Board of Supervisors updating the Municipal Green Building Code to require U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification for all municipal construction and major renovation projects over 5,000 square feet after September 1, 2011. Currently, only LEED Silver certification is required for municipal buildings, while LEED Gold is required for private sector buildings starting in 2012. This legislation updates green building standards for municipal construction projects that will secure San Francisco’s place as a national leader in resource efficient building.

PCCP and SRM Associates Form Joint Venture for the Development of a 160,000 SF...
