MERIT Property Management’s San Diego Office Positions for Growth and Relocates to Expanded Office Space
New office was designed with sustainable green design principles
San Diego, CA – October 9, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — MERIT, a leading provider of professional community association and rental management services, announces the relocation of their San Diego office due to rapid growth in the region. The relocation also created the opportunity for MERIT to design the new office space with sustainable green design principles.
Located in Seville Plaza at 5473 Kearny Villa Road, Suite 200, San Diego, CA 92123, the new office is centrally located to serve clients throughout the San Diego region. The office currently supports more than 50 employees both in the office and onsite at various communities. MERIT’s San Diego office currently manages a total of 53 communities representing 18,370 units throughout San Diego County.
“MERIT has been serving the San Diego community for over 25 years and has an established presence in the region,” states MERIT San Diego Business Unit Leader Any Ferrell. “The relocation provides MERIT the opportunity for sustainable growth within the next five to ten years in a location that is convenient for clients.”
MERIT implements green initiatives throughout the communities they manage and while designing the new 6,467 sq.ft. office space, they worked in conjunction with Ware Malcomb’s LEED accredited architecture team to utilize recent sustainable design principles. MERIT’s new “open office” design consists of low partitions and large open windows which not only provide space efficiency and teaming opportunities, but significantly improve the day time sunlight throughout the office. To help with glare and temperature control, existing windows were treated, adjustable blinds were installed and thermostats were placed throughout the suite.
“Current LEED principles state that a well designed day lit building is estimated to reduce energy use by 50%-80%. Our multi-use conference room was designed to ensure day lighting and views as well as energy usage reduction through the selection of LED lighting, dimmers and occupant controllable switches,” states MERIT’s Assistant Vice President of Facilities Karyn Flores, LEED AP. “We are proud to do our part to help the environment.”
