March 30, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — The City of Long Beach is proposing an update to the Housing Element of the Long Beach General Plan. The Housing Element is a comprehensive assessment of current and projected housing needs for all economic segments of the City. It sets forth various goals, policies, and programs addressing these local housing needs. This Housing Element, which will cover a planning period extending through June 30, 2014, is an update of the City’s 2000-2005 Housing Element.

The Negative Declaration (ND 04-09) for this Housing Element Update is available online at http://www.lbds.info/planning/environmental_planning/environmental_reports.asp, and at the following locations during regular business hours:

Long Beach Main Library, 101 Pacific Avenue
Long Beach City Hall, 333 W. Ocean Blvd., 5th Floor
Negative Declarations are prepared for projects subject to State environmental law when it has been determined that the project would not have a significant effect on the environment and therefore does not require preparation of an environmental impact report.
