Education & TrainingHousing & DevelopmentPress Releases Nancy Jenkins of Southern California Edison Joins NBI Board - By RealEstateRama - June 18, 2015 Visual Text WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 18, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — New Buildings Institute (NBI) has announced the addition of Nancy Jenkins, manager of DSM Strategy and Compliance at Southern California Edison (SCE), as the newest member of the organization’s Board of Directors. Ms. Jenkins is currently responsible for leading development and implementation of the overall strategy for SCE’s energy efficiency, demand response and customer solar program portfolio. Prior to joining the utility, she supported public policy at the California Energy Commission.<span id="more-3581"></span></p> <p>SCE has also joined the ranks of leading utilities and efficiency program providers that support NBI’s work driving higher levels of energy efficiency in commercial buildings. These include Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), National Grid, ComEd, Efficiency Vermont, Efficiency Maine, Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance and Cape Light Compact.</p> <p>Jenkins’ appointment follows the addition of PG&E’s Janice Berman, who was named an NBI Board member last year. Both women and their respective utilities, which cover northern and southern regions of California, are leaders in energy efficiency efforts in the state. Ms. Berman is senior director of energy efficiency strategy for PG&E.</p> <p>“Nancy’s addition to the NBI Board deepens our connection to leading utility companies and advances our efforts to help navigate the changing environment for building efficiency programs,” said Ralph DiNola, NBI CEO. “Higher efficiency goals demand more integrated approaches and complex systems. NBI’s technical expertise is an essential ingredient to helping programs successfully hit their targets,” he said.</p> <p>Since 1997, NBI has served as a technical resource for governments, utilities, energy efficiency advocates and the building industry acting as a think tank, convener, facilitator and carrier of ideas between these groups.
