Torrance, CA – March 14, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — HGA Architects and Engineers (HGA) has hired Kenneth E. Bishop as associate vice president and senior construction administrator for the Healthcare Practice Group in the San Francisco office.
He will direct technical design details and information processes between designers, consultants, contractors and owners to enhance workflow.
“Ken is a skilled communicator with extensive technical design background,” said Fredric Sherman, FAIA, vice president and director of HGA’s San Francisco office. “He is experienced managing complex construction issues to achieve cost-effective project delivery. He provides a vital link between the multidisciplinary design teams and the construction teams to manage technical information. We welcome his expertise as we continue to build our Healthcare Practice in northern California.”
Bishop has more than 25 years’ architectural experience. His background includes healthcare, corporate, civic, retail and residential work. He currently is working on Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford expansion in Palo Alto, Calif.

Before joining HGA, Bishop was a senior architect and construction administrator with Anshen + Allen in San Francisco, where he focused on healthcare design since 2003. His work included a replacement Bed Tower for Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in Santa Clara, Calif.; the Sutter Mills Peninsula Hospital in Milbrae, Calif.; the Edgemoor Skilled Nursing Facility in San Diego County, Calif.; and Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara, Calif.
Bishop attended graduate school in the Master of Architecture program at Cornell University and has a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
He is a founding member of the AIA Construction Contract Administration Knowledge Net. He additionally writes about construction administration for leading trade journals.
