Feinstein Applauds House Committee Passage of West LA VA Housing Bill

-

Washington – February 29, 2016 – (RealEstateRama) — Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today applauded House Veterans Affairs Committee passage of the Los Angeles Homeless Veterans Leasing Act, introduced by Representative Ted Lieu (D-Calif.). The Senate Veterans Affairs Committee is expected to consider the companion bill, introduced by Senator Feinstein, next month.

“To effectively implement the new West LA VA master plan and transform the campus into a leading provider of veterans’ services, Congress must pass the Los Angeles Homeless Veterans Leasing Act. The bill will allow VA to partner with nonprofits and community groups to build housing and offer education and employment services and recreational opportunities more quickly and efficiently.

“Passage of the bill through the House Veterans Affairs Committee is an important step forward, and I thank Chairman Jeff Miller for visiting the West LA VA and making this a priority. I look forward to working with Chairman Johnny Isakson, who has been very helpful on this issue, to ensure timely Senate passage.”
