Torrance, CA – April 26, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Construction is speeding ahead on the mixed-use residential development at 1111 Wilshire Boulevard in Downtown Los Angeles, which is expected to be completed by mid 2013. Designed by Nadel Architects to highlight the neighborhood’s contemporary character, the $53 million complex consists of 210 units and all the recreational amenities necessary for urban living, including 7,000-square-feet of retail space on the ground floor. Located in the City West district just two blocks away from Los Angeles’ central business district, 1111 Wilshire, developed by Holland Partners Group, will provide a variety of multifamily options for the budding residential area.

“We designed 1111 Wilshire with the urban professional in mind,” said Dale Yonkin, project director at Nadel. “Our expertise in mixed-use projects allowed us to take advantage of the space to provide the highest quality of contemporary living. After precise adjustments of surrounding grades, we were able to achieve an additional story, allowing for ground level retail space while keeping six levels of residential units. The resulting seven stories will be an urban sanctuary for those who work and play downtown.”

The building’s 210 rental units will consist of studios, junior-one bedrooms, one-bedrooms, plus a one-bedroom and den plan and two and three bedroom plans ranging in size from 427 to 1,316 square feet. Building amenities include three levels of subterranean parking, a large courtyard, and a roof deck with barbeques, picnic tables, seating areas and an outdoor pool and spa with vistas of the downtown skyline. Residents will also have access to a state-of-the-art fitness center and a business center that includes a private conference room.

The site, located on the metro bus line and a half mile from the 7th Street metro rail station on the densely developed Wilshire Boulevard, will offer an upscale restaurant and popular retailers. Retail parking as well as additional parking for the adjacent medical office building, which is accessible through the complex, is included in the development.

In addition to Dale Yonkin, the Nadel Architects 1111 Wilshire team includes Jack Bouvrie, design director; Afsaneh Riahi, associate AIA, and John Yang, design planners; and Rhoden Skyles, Project Manager.

Nadel currently has several residential projects in multiple stages of development which include nearly 5,000 dwelling units.
