CONGRESSWOMAN LEE WELCOMES SECRETARY CASTRO TO THE EAST BAY TO TOUR THE OAKLAND HOUSING AUTHORITY LEADERSHIP TRAINING CENTER

Oakland, CA – (RealEstateRama) — Congresswoman Barbara Lee welcomed the Honorable Julian Castro, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, to the East Bay to participate in a tour of the Oakland Housing Authority’s Leadership Training Center and learn more about OHA’s unique partnership with the Oakland Unified School District.

“I am pleased that Secretary Castro accepted my invitation to come to the East Bay to meet with the Oakland Housing Authority and Superintendent Antwan Wilson. Oakland’s data sharing agreement and other OHA programs help parents contribute to their children’s education and success,” said Congresswoman Lee. “I am thrilled to highlight the innovative cross-sector collaboration between OHA and OUSD, as well discuss ways to expand Oakland’s successful model to other communities around the country.”

Following the tour, Congresswoman Lee hosted a roundtable discussion with Secretary Castro, local elected officials and community stakeholders to discuss affordable housing, HUD programs, and key resources to address the housing crisis in the district.
