BRIDGE Housing has appointed Whitney Weller as Senior Vice President, effective in mid-June.

Ms. Weller has 25 years of professional experience as an architect, urban planner and community developer. Prior to BRIDGE, Ms. Weller was Senior Vice President of The Michaels Development Company. She established the company’s Chicago and Los Angeles offices, and oversaw a portfolio worth over $350 million. Among her many accomplishments at Michaels, she served as Master Developer for the redevelopment of the Chicago Housing Authority’s Henry Horner Homes and Robert Taylor Homes, which will lead to over 3,000 units of mixed-income, mixed-use and mixed-tenure housing.
Previously, Ms. Weller completed a two-year Community Builder Fellowship at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, then became a HOPE VI Specialist responsible for all HOPE VI and mixed-finance public housing developments in Chicago. Earlier, she worked as a Project Architect for firms in New York and Chicago, and was a Development Coordinator for the Lawrence Avenue Development Corp.
Ms. Weller holds an MS in Historic Preservation from Columbia University and a BS in Design from Arizona State University; she completed the Community Builder Program at Harvard University’s JFK School of Government. She has served on the board of Affordable Housing Finance and is a member of the Illinois Housing Council and Lambda Alpha International.
