Woman Sentenced for Stealing Packages from Alhambra Home

WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — A 20-year-old woman charged with stealing packages from an Alhambra home pleaded no contest today to second-degree commercial burglary and grand theft of personal property and was sentenced, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Rianna Adrienne Medina of Montebello entered her plea to the two felony counts before Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Cathryn Brougham in case GA098841. Medina was immediately sentenced to 180 days in county jail, ordered to complete 180 days of a live-in residential treatment program following the jail sentence and placed on formal probation for five years, said Deputy District Attorney Vanessa Alfaro.

Prosecutors said on May 10 an Alhambra resident walked up to his home and discovered Medina stealing packages from his porch.

The homeowner video recorded Medina as he confronted her walking away with the packages before she dropped the items and ran away, prosecutors said.

On May 12, Medina reportedly checked into a motel in Rosemead using another person’s identification, according to prosecutors. She was arrested by Alhambra police on May 13.
