SPRING VALLEY, Calif., Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ — Residents of Covenant’s Mount Miguel Village are doing well after spending another night at San Diego High School. They were evacuated from the Spring Valley campus late Monday night, but are receiving excellent care and attention from Covenant staff and volunteers including doctors and nurses who were on-hand. Covenant staff chaplains were also staying with residents at the shelter and offering their assistance.

“I hope we will all be able to return to the campus later today,” said Thad Rothrock, Executive Director of Mount Miguel Covenant Village, who is at San Diego High School with the residents. “Staff members who remained on the campus say there is no damage, but access is still limited.” An announcement is expected by the end of the day as to when residents will be able to return.

Only independent living Covenant residents remain at the high school. All assisted living and nursing residents are now at nearby facilities. Some residents chose to evacuate with family members nearby.
