Rep. Baca Sponsors Legislation to Create 50 Year Mortgage Refinancing Plan
Washington, DC - September 11, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- Congressman Joe Baca (D-Rialto) introduced legislation that directs the Government Sponsored Housing Entities, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, to offer 50 year mortgage refinance terms to qualified homeowners. The Flexible Refinancing for American Families Act establishes a mortgage plan that would allow homeowners to receive immediate, short-term relief in the form of low monthly mortgage payments.
Baca Sponsors Bill to Encourage Development of Moderate-Income Housing for Senior Citizens
Washington, DC - August 3, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- Congressman Joe Baca (D-Rialto) introduced legislation in the House of Representatives to increase the supply of affordable rental housing available for middle-income seniors, who are ineligible to receive subsidized housing benefits that go to the lowest-income individuals. The Affordable Housing for Moderate-Income Seniors Act requires states receiving low-income housing tax credits from the federal government to provide additional credit points on their Qualified Action Plan criteria for developers who are able to build moderate-income housing for seniors

The Office of the Homeowner Advocate Act of 2010 creates an independent office to assist homeowners, housing counselors, and attorneys in resolving problems with HAMP, and give homeowners a greater level of control over the loan modification application process.
Baca Announces HUD Neighborhood Stabilization Grants Awarded to Inland Area
Washington, DC - September 10, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Today, Congressman Joe Baca (D-Rialto) announced that San Bernardino County and the cities of Fontana, Ontario, Rialto, and San Bernardino have collectively been awarded over $20 million in Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) grant funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The NSP is designed to assist states and local governments in addressing the effects of abandoned and foreclosed housing.
Rep. Baca Sponsors Legislation to Give First Preference to Primary Residency Home Buyers
Washington, DC - February 3, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Today, Congressman Joe Baca (D-Rialto) introduced legislation to give certain preferences to individuals and families committed to rebuilding communities when purchasing government owned residential property. The First Look at Primary Residence Act requires the federal government, and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, to consider purchase offers from only those who plan to use the property as their primary residence for the first 15 days that the properties are listed. After that time period, the seller is allowed to consider any offer.
