Rep. Matsui Announces $650,000 in Federal Funding to Help House Homeless Veterans in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, CA - June 7, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- Congresswoman Doris O. Matsui (D-Sacramento) today announced that Sacramento County will receive $650,637 this year from the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) Program. This amount represents a 14-percent increase over last year’s funding for the VASH Program, which makes vouchers available for Sacramento-area displaced veterans and their families. Funds will be available through the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA).
Rep. Matsui Announces $344,000 for Local Heath Care for the Homeless Program
WASHINGTON, DC - November 10, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- Congresswoman Doris O. Matsui (D-Sacramento) announced that $344,621 has been awarded to the Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services through a federal grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration to support outreach and primary care services for homeless populations in Sacramento. Thanks to this funding, the Mercy Clinic at Loaves and Fishes will continue to provide area homeless with outpatient primary and public health care services--as well as inpatient and other secondary and tertiary health care services--in cooperation with local doctors and hospitals. This competitive award will allow the clinic to continue operating through 2012.
Congresswoman Matsui Announces Release of $1 Million for Sacramento Housing
Money will Help Local Organization Disburse Home Loans to Low-Income Sacramentans. WASHINGTON, DC - October 2, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- Congresswoman Doris O. Matsui (D-CA) announced today that the U.S. Treasury Department has released $1,000,000 to Sacramento Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. (SNHS). SNHS is a loan fund that provides gap funding and comprehensive home ownership and foreclosure prevention counseling for local low-income individuals and families. Their work has helped countless families achieve the dream of home ownership, and many more stay in their homes despite the recent economic downturn.
