Rep. Mimi Walters on Supreme Court’s Stay of the President’s Clean Power Plan

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mimi Walters (CA-45) today released the following statement after the Supreme Court temporarily blocked the enforcement of President Obama’s Clean Power Plan.

Said Rep. Mimi Walters, “I applaud the Supreme Court’s decision to temporarily halt enforcement of the President’s Clean Power Plan, which is a reckless regulatory attack on American businesses and jobs. The reality of the President’s liberal energy agenda is that it will drive up energy costs and reduce consumer access to affordable energy sources. Forcing a shift away from traditional energy resources would ultimately stifle the economy for years to come and harm consumers’ pocketbooks. I’m encouraged that the Supreme Court temporarily blocked this plan and I look forward to working with my colleagues to protect Americans from unnecessary energy rate hikes.”

Walters represents California’s 45th District and sits on the House Transportation and Infrastructure and Judiciary Committees.
