February 03, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Nearly 200 HBANC members and friends were on hand this past Friday for the Association’s Annual Installation Gala, which was held this year in Oakland on the top floor of the Marriott City Center, which boasts one of the Bay Area’s most panoramic views.
As the HBANC marked its 35-year anniversary, the gavel of leadership was passed from 2008 Chairwoman Cheryl O’Connor to 2009 Chairman Ray Panek, KB Home South Bay Division’s Senior Vice President of Forward Planning.
In his heartfelt remarks, the Association’s new Chairman noted that the HBANC has endured for three and a half decades, through economic recessions and housing downturns. “We’ll get through to the other side” of current market woes, he assured HBANC members.
In other highlights of the festive evening, Jeff Schroeder, Ponderosa Homes, received the “Chairman’s Award” from outgoing Chairwoman Cheryl O’Connor for his work last year as Chair of the HBANC’s Governance Task Force.
Also, Lee Terry, Lee Terry and Associates, was honored as “Associate of Year” for her work last year as Coordinator of the HBANC’s Members-in-Transition Program.
