Pelosi Statement on Civil Engineers’ D+ Grade for American Infrastructure
Washington, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi today released the following statement after the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) released the quadrennial American Infrastructure Report Card, which scores a D+ for our nation’s infrastructure.
“It’s been seven weeks since President Trump’ inauguration. In all that time, the President still has not put forward any jobs bills or any plans to create good-paying jobs rebuilding America’s infrastructure.
“The failing grade of America’s infrastructure shows the urgent need for bold action, as well as the scope of the opportunity to create good-paying jobs strengthening our communities and our economy. We need real investment in infrastructure, not a Trojan Horse to hand tax breaks to billionaires while enabling them to turn around and charge tolls on the rest of us.
“Democrats believe the greatest nation in the world should have the best infrastructure in the world. But instead of rebuilding America’s infrastructure, the President is busy destroying Americans’ health coverage. The Trump Administration and the Republican Congress should abandon their assault on health care and work with Democrats to forge a bipartisan path forward on job-creating infrastructure projects across America.”
