MAN TO BE ARRAIGNED ON CHARGES FOR VANDALIZING RELIGIOUS SIKH TEMPLE PROPERTY IN BUENA PARK

FULLERTON, Calif. – January 12, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — A man has been charged and is scheduled to be arraigned for vandalizing a religious Sikh temple property in Buena Park. Brodie Durazo, 21, Buena Park, is charged with one felony count of vandalism of a religious property, and two misdemeanor counts each of vandalism under $400. If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum sentence of three years in state prison. Durazo is out of custody and posted $20,000 bail today. He is scheduled to be arraignedFeb. 8, 2016, at 8:30 a.m. in Department N-8, North Justice Center, Fullerton.

On the evening of Dec. 16, 2015, Durazo is accused of spray-painting graffiti throughout a trailer park where he resides on Orangethorpe Avenue in Buena Park. He is accused of then going onto the property of the Gurdwara Singh Sabha Temple spray-painting graffiti on a dividing wall between the trailer park and the temple. He is also accused of spray-painting graffiti on a tractor trailer parked in the parking lot of the temple.

The graffiti was reported to the Buena Park Police Department, who investigated this case.

Deputy District Attorney Jess Rodriguez of the Special Prosecutions Unit is prosecuting this case.
