GARY HUNT JOINS BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR CT REALTY INVESTORS

ALISO VIEJO, CA – February 23, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — CT Realty Investors announced that Gary H. Hunt, one of Orange County’s most respected real estate professionals, has joined its board of directors.

Hunt is the managing partner of California Strategies, LLC, offering expertise in land use entitlement and development strategies, business and government issues management, and strategic regulatory consulting.  With more than 30 years of experience in the field, Hunt has worked with some of the largest master-planned community developers and landowners in the western United States.  He spent more than 25 years with The Irvine Company, 10 of those years as executive vice president during which time he served on the company’s board of directors and executive committee.  Hunt led The Irvine Company’s major entitlement, regional infrastructure, planning, legal, strategic government relations, and media and community relations activities.

Throughout his career, Hunt has served on the boards of directors of the California Business Roundtable, State Chamber of Commerce and other statewide and national business organizations.  In addition, he was the chairman of the Advisory Board of the Kennecott Land Company in Salt Lake City, Utah, and a member and Lead Independent Director of Grubb & Ellis Company’s board of directors. While at Grubb & Ellis, Hunt served as interim president and chief executive officer for 16 months.

Hunt’s political experience spans more than four decades.  Beginning his career as a consultant to the California State Legislature and a member of then-Gov. Ronald Reagan’s staff, he most recently served as state finance chairman for former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Hunt attended the University of Cincinnati as well as Long Beach and Sacramento State Universities, where he majored in political science.  He holds a juris doctorate from Irvine University School of Law.
