ALISO VIEJO, CA – March 29, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Stefan Manolakas, a longtime developer of commercial, residential and mixed-use projects in Northern California, has joined the CT Realty Investors board of directors.  Manolakas represents the third addition to the real estate investment firm’s board of directors in the past few months.

President and owner of Palisades Properties Inc., a Newport Beach-based real estate development company founded in 1989, Manolakas is an expert in land acquisition, project development, government entitlements, special assessment district financing, and commercial, residential and mixed-use construction.  Prior to establishing Palisades Properties, Manolakas was vice president of development and general counsel for River West Developments specializing in master-planned communities in the greater Sacramento area.

Over the years, Manolakas has developed numerous residential and commercial projects in Folsom, El Dorado Hills and Roseville, including Russell Ranch in Folsom, a 1,700-acre site with 4,000 home sites, Natoma Station in Folsom, a 483-acre master planned community with more than 1,400 dwelling units, Carson Creek Ranch, a 710-acre mixed-use development with 1,750 single-family lots in El Dorado Hills, Natoma Station Shopping Center, a 160,000-square-foot commercial center in Folsom, and Palisades Plaza, a 50,000-square-foot specialty retail center in Roseville.  He currently serves as the managing partner of Rancho Laguna Partnership, which is actively seeking development entitlements for 36 custom lots on a 180-acre site in the East Bay community of Moraga.

A resident of Laguna Beach, Calif., Manolakas graduated from California State University at Fullerton.  He earned his juris doctorate from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento and completed the Owner/President Management program at Harvard Business School.  He is a member of the California Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

“Stefan brings a unique perspective encompassing all aspects of residential and commercial development, including entitlement processing and special district financing,” said James “Watty” Watson, president of CT Realty Investors.  “Stefan has incredible experience in managing the entire development process – from land acquisition and entitlement processing, to construction oversight, sales, property management and leasing.  We are thrilled that he will be sharing his expertise and insights with us as we continue to expand our activities.”

The ties between Manolakas and Watson go back several years to when they were gubernatorial appointees in the mid-1990’s and served on the California Horse Racing Commission together for four years.
