CB RICHARD ELLIS GROUP, INC. NAMES MITCH HARRIS TO LEAD CRITICAL ENVIRONMENTS AND TECHNOLOGY PRACTICE SPECIALTIES

Los Angeles, CA – October 1, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc. (CBRE) today announced that Mitch Harris has been appointed Director of Critical Environments within the company’s Global Facilities Management Group and head of the Technology Practice Group in the Americas.

Mr. Harris, based in Charlotte, will be responsible for leading the practice groups that specialize in data center and mission-critical facilities solutions. This new role brings together CBRE’s expertise and experience in critical environments, site selection and other brokerage engagements, design and construction, and facilities management, and positions CBRE to provide integrated end-to-end business solutions for its Corporate Services and Brokerage clients.

Since 2007, Mr. Harris has served as Senior Vice President and Director of Engineering, serving CBRE’s Bank of America client. In that role, he was responsible for a staff of over 400 employees, and more than 50 million square feet of data centers, critical facilities, administrative, and retail facilities. He led the transformation of the engineering platform and service delivery model to dramatically improve facility reliability, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Prior to joining CBRE, Mr. Harris was Division Leader, Facility Management & Engineering for the University of California, Los Alamos National Laboratory. He was responsible for a staff of 300 employees with an annual operating budget in excess of $100 million per year. Previously, he served as Vice President of Sonalysts, Inc., an engineering and technical services company serving the commercial and government nuclear industry.

Mr. Harris hold a BS in Electrical Engineering from Norwich University in Northfield, VT and is a certified Six Sigma Greenbelt.
