C.A.R. launches social media video contest

-

LOS ANGELES, CA – October 28, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — In an extension of its “California REALTORS®.  Champions of Home.” consumer advertising campaign, the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (C.A.R.) today launched “Stories of Home,” a video testimonial contest for consumers to share personal stories about a REALTOR® who was their “Champion of Home.”

“Stories of Home” is a social media component of the Champions of Home advertising campaign, which launched this summer and features California homeowners telling their individual stories of buying and selling a home and how their REALTORS® helped them conquer the process.  Their stories focus on everything from short sales to epic tales of paperwork and highlight REALTORS® as experienced professionals guiding them toward closing and even becoming a surrogate family member.

Consumers can enter the video testimonial contest via C.A.R.’s Facebook page in the “Stories of Home” section under C.A.R.’s profile picture, beginning Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 at 9 a.m. (Pacific) and ending on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at midnight Pacific.  From the C.A.R. Facebook page, participants can create a short video about how their California REALTOR® was their Champion of Home.  Participants then submit their video to the gallery where members of the public can view and vote on their favorite video.  The top 10 videos with the most votes will be selected as finalists.  A panel of judges from C.A.R. and ad agency Red Tettemer + Partners will select four winners based on creativity and story appeal.  The top four winners each will win a $500 Lowes Gift Card.  See C.A.R.’s Facebook page for complete contest rules and details.

Running since Aug. 15, the “California REALTORS®.  Champions of Home.” campaign features new television spots, radio traffic read sponsorships, web banners placed on popular websites, and search engine marketing directing consumers to a microsite (http://www.championsofhome.com/), which is rich with content and resources related to the home-buying process.  Additionally, a robust social media plan adds a viral component to the campaign. Thirty and 60-second television spots have been airing in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego markets on cable networks A&E, HGTV, and Bravo during such programs as “House Hunter,” “Design Star,” and “Sell This House.”

The campaign was created by independent Philadelphia-based agency, Red Tettemer + Partners.

Since 1997, when C.A.R. launched its first advertising campaign, consumer awareness of the REALTOR® brand and the need to use a REALTOR® has increased significantly.  This year’s new consumer advertising campaign will continue to build on past successes by communicating directly with consumers about the added value and peace of mind they receive by working with a REALTOR® when buying or selling a home.
