Bono Mack Honored by Construction Industry for Support of Free Enterprise
February 9, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Citing her work as Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade – as well as her voting record during the 111th Congress – the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today honored Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45) for her support of “free enterprise, individual liberty, limited government and personal responsibility.” ABC is a national association with 75 chapters representing construction firms with more than 2 million employees nationwide.
In presenting the award to Congresswoman Bono Mack, ABC Vice President Geoff Burr said, “We applaud your efforts to keep America strong by protecting our workforce and creating economic opportunities for the contractors in California and across the nation.” Burr added that the award reflects the Congresswoman’s strong “commitment to fair competition and free enterprise.”
In her role as Subcommittee Chairman, Bono Mack has made job creation and economic prosperity a top priority. Last year, her bi-partisan legislation to reform the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) was signed into law by President Obama and has been widely credited with creating and saving thousands of American jobs.
“This is a tremendous honor, and I would like to thank America’s builders and contractors for everything they do to provide jobs and to stimulate our economy,” Bono Mack said in receiving the award. “I look forward to working with ABC and other stakeholders in the months ahead in a collaborative effort to bring down unemployment and to create new opportunities for American businesses and American workers.”
