Bob Maxwell Appointed to Sharp Healthcare Foundation Board of Directors
Torrance, CA – January 18, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Bob Maxwell, senior vice president of C.W. Driver, has been appointed to join the Board of Directors of Sharp HealthCare Foundation, a nonprofit, philanthropic organization that supports the San Diego-based Sharp HealthCare facilities. On the board, Maxwell will work with other business professionals, community leaders, and members of the Sharp medical staff to advocate for the community and promote philanthropic contributions that advance the mission of Sharp HealthCare.
“I am honored to sit on the board for the Foundation,” said Maxwell, who has begun the three-year term. “I look forward to working with such dedicated individuals, who are not only leaders in their respective fields, but are also committed to serving the community and supporting the achievement of medical excellence.”
As a director on the board, Maxwell will attend the bimonthly meetings and provide leadership and guidance to the Foundation’s committees, which include finance, nominating, stewardship and numerous philanthropy initiatives. Directors also work to increase annual membership, collaborate with the Foundation staff and board members on community-related projects, promote the education of the greater community regarding healthcare issues, and recognize those who have made significant philanthropic contributions.
“We are fortunate to have Bob join the board,” said Bill Littlejohn, chief executive officer of the Foundation and senior vice president of Sharp HealthCare. “This outstanding group of individuals is very important to the success of Sharp HealthCare. I know Bob will be a valuable addition.”
Maxwell’s involvement in healthcare-based foundations dates back to his philanthropic contributions with the Sidney Kimmel Foundation for Cancer Research. In this case, Maxwell’s fundraising support helped the foundation fund for the necessary cancer research, resulting in the discovery of a prominent cancer drug therapy treatment which was later adopted by Sharp HealthCare. As a result, the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center became an affiliate of Sharp HealthCare on cancer drug treatments.
With 35 years of industry experience, Maxwell has a deep understanding of all aspects of project development and delivery. As a member of the senior management team at C.W. Driver, a premier builder serving the Western U.S. since 1919, he is responsible for the company’s marketing, business development, and sales efforts.
