The buying party—a couple from Canada—initially flew out in 2014 to tour one of Brandes’ other Corona del Mar listings: a home in the $2 million range. Shortly after, they decided to pursue potential property at a higher price point: the $5 million range. Priced at around $7 million, it boasted a location everyone deemed ideal. So, with the intent to give it a comprehensive renovation, in which it would be transformed into a bespoke Cape Cod-style estate, they made an offer. The deal closed in just 8 days.
Meanwhile, the property at 3320 Ocean Boulevard—directly next door to the couple’s initial purchase—went on the market. Following the sale of their business, Brandes’ clients decided to buy it as well. Now that the deal has officially closed, they’re fusing the two properties to make a single stellar estate, complete with a pool, a pool house and a sculpture studio, among countless other luxurious amenities.
