April 21, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — You’re invited to check the status of your grant proposal in the grants clearinghouse, www.grants.firesafecouncil.org. The decisions that have been made are preliminary funding decisions at this time based on funding and the next steps in the Clearinghouse.
Your grant proposal was one of 397 grant proposals this year requesting a total of $70 million. The preliminary decisions have targeted 144 projects totaling $20 million for potential funding.
Here is some important information to keep in mind as you check on your grant proposal. Please read it carefully as there have been some recent changes in the requirements:
If your project has been selected for preliminary funding:
1. A grant manager will contact you in the next two weeks to introduce themselves and provide more information on the next steps with your projects. Please submit all required documentation to your grant manager via the U.S. Post Office mail. We are not accepting information via email. A complete list of mailing addresses is available at http://www.firesafecouncil.org/about/staff_roster.cfm.
2. Please submit an application in the Clearinghouse. The application is automatically generated from your grant proposal and can be found on your online account. APPLICATION DEADLINE: MAY 22, 2009, MIDNIGHT.
3. Please complete and submit a Grantee Survey. The Grantee Survey is one-page document that will help the California Fire Safe Council become more familiar with your organization and help us to create our sub-award agreement. Your grant manager will send you a copy of the survey and it can be found at www.firesafecouncil.org. You will be prompted to submit supplemental information from the survey. All organizations are required to submit copies of this material, even if this information has been submitted in past years. The Grantee Survey is also due on MAY 22, 2009 and must be submitted directly to your grant manager via the U.S. Post Office mail.
4. If your project involves fuel reduction activities, please submit maps of your project. Please mark a 7 ½ minute USGS topographical map showing the location and boundaries of the proposed treatment area. Provide one map with the “Vicinity Area” with a 1:100,000 scale and mark the general location of your project. Provide a second map with the “Project Area” with a 1:24,000 scale and map your projects specific outline. Each map should be submitted on an 8 ½ x 11’’ sheet of paper. If your project is a large area, such as a county, please submit one map with projects outer limits. Please include the map quadrangles. Maps should be submitted with your grantee survey directly to your grant manager via the U.S Post Office mail. DEADLINE May 22, 2009.
5. You will be required to attend a Clearinghouse Sub-Grantee workshop in the next few months. There will be many dates and locations to choose from, so please make sure to register as soon as the information is posted.
–Partially funded projects: Some projects were picked for funding, but at lower funding levels. You’ll see this when you check the status of your paper.
If your project was not selected for preliminary funding:
1. You may request feedback from the California Fire Safe Council. Please complete the Feedback form available at www.firesafecouncil.org and mail directly to Amber Gardner at P.O. Box 907 Alamo, CA 94507.. Only complete forms will generate a response to the request. Requests will be processed within 30 calendar days from the date of receipt of the request. If the request is still in process at the end of 30 calendar days, the Clearinghouse will inform the requestor in writing of the date when a response may be expected. Requests must be submitted before May 29, 2009.
2. Your project will be held in the Clearinghouse until the next funding cycle should funds become available. Nothing more is required of you as we will contact you directly should this occur.
