115th Congress Subcommittee Assignments Released

WASHINGTON – (RealEstateRama) — Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, Rodney Frelinghuysen announced subcommittee memberships for the 115th Congress. U.S. Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-21) will serve on the Agriculture Subcommittee, the Military Construction and Veteran Affairs Subcommittee, as well as the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Subcommittee.

Last Congress, Valadao, who is beginning his third term serving on the House Appropriations Committee, served on both the Agriculture Subcommittee and the Military Construction and Veteran Affairs Subcommittee.
Congressman Valadao stated, “As we begin the 115th Congress, we have the opportunity to ensure Americans’ tax dollars are being spent in both an effective and responsible manner.” He continued, “On the committee, I will continue to advocate on behalf of the families, veterans, and industries that create local jobs in California’s Twenty First Congressional District.”

The Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies has jurisdiction over the Department of Agriculture (Except Forest Service), the Farm Credit Administration, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and the Food and Drug Administration.

The Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies has jurisdiction over military construction and housing programs within the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs as well as other agencies.

The Subcommittee on Transportation Housing, Urban Development, and Related Agencies has jurisdiction over the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, U.S. Department of Transportation, the Federal Maritime Commission, the National Railroad Passenger Corporation, the Office of Inspector General, the National Transportation Safety Board, and the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation, among others.

Congressman David G. Valadao represents the 21st Congressional District, which includes Kings County and portions of Fresno, Tulare, and Kern Counties.
