North Hollywood Man Charged for Attempted Murder-Suicide
WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 14, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — A 46-year-old man was charged today with shooting his wife and at a neighbor in a North Hollywood condominium complex during a domestic violence incident in which he also shot himself, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
José María Robles (dob 10/25/68) faces two counts of attempted murder and one count of criminal threats.
Case LA081743 includes allegations that the defendant discharged a rifle and caused great bodily injury.
Robles is scheduled to be arraigned today in Department 100 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Van Nuys Branch. Deputy District Attorney Matthew Vodnoy is assigned to the case.
On Sept. 9, Robles allegedly shot his wife during a domestic dispute, prosecutors said. The victim survived her injuries. The defendant is accused of then going to a neighbor’s house and shooting at the neighbor, prosecutors added.
After shooting at his neighbor, Robles reportedly shot himself in the chest but survived, Vodnoy said. The neighbor victim was unharmed.
Bail will be requested at more than $3 million.
Robles faces a possible maximum sentence of life in state prison if convicted as charged.
The Los Angeles Police Department, North Hollywood Station, is investigating the case.
