Transaction to bring the first Laurus College campus to Ventura County

OXNARD, CA – July 29, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Lee & Associates-LA North/Ventura, Inc. Principals John Ochoa, SIOR, and Grant Harris and Vice President David Kim transacted a 15,510-square-foot office lease that will bring the first Laurus College campus to Ventura County.

Total consideration for the five-year lease at 2351 Lockwood St. in Oxnard, CA, is in excess of $1,570,000.

“The search took almost a year because Laurus College was looking for a highly visible location with signage opportunity in a market with demographics that matched its student profile,” said Ochoa. “We identified every opportunity with freeway frontage but this building really met their expectations.”

Laurus, a wholly owned subsidiary of Michigan-based QE2 Systems, Inc., has three California locations in Atascadero, San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria. The school provides post-secondary education in fields including Microsoft Office software, A+ certification, 3D animation, business, medical billing, web design, and computer networking.

The school will occupy the entire building, which sits along the Ventura (101) Freeway with highly visible building signage. Opening is expected in the fourth quarter of 2011.

The landlord, Sunbelt Enterprises, represented itself in the transaction.
