Existing Home Sales Up 41.6 Percent In July, Says California Desert Association of REALTORS
PALM DESERT, CA - May 20, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — Corny Easter bunny jokes and the spirit of the season helped the California Desert Association of REALTORS® raise about $3,000 for its annual high school Scholarship Fund.
The annual Easter Basket Auction April 9 attracted 25 creative if not just chocolate-delicious Easter baskets.
Proceeds will go toward the presentation of $18,000 in scholarships to local high school students. Scholarships to selected seniors will be distributed April 23.
Celebrity judges included television personality Patti Gribow and KMIR 6 weekend anchor/reporter Gloria Margarita. Rich LaRue, broker-owner of Realty Executives, was the emcee who moderated the often spirited bidding.
The Most Creative Award went to Carole Motz of Douglas W. Motz Insurance, Christine Rivera of Tarbell Realtors won Most Beautiful Award and Cindy Mozingo of CV Escrow took Most Humorous Award.
“This is a wonderful way to have fun for a good cause, giving scholarships to our high school seniors,” said Community Service Committee Chair Kara Robinson, of RAM Home Warranty.
The California Desert Association of REALTORS®, The Voice for Real Estate® for the Coachella Valley, represents more than 4,000 real estate professionals from Palm Springs to Coachella.
